Indian govt approves setting up Kunbi Handloom Crafts Village in Goa

The ministry of textiles, Govt of India, has permitted location up of Kunbi Handloom Crafts Village in South Goa. To be built at a expense of ₹10 crore, the venture is to be completed by March 2023. The fiscal grant and other assistance will be furnished by the Office environment of the Enhancement Commissioner (Handlooms), underneath the textiles ministry.

“The project will be a large boon to artisans and weavers in Goa,” textiles minster Piyush Goyal said in a tweet.

The Kunbi Handloom Crafts Village will come up in close proximity to Saluli Dam, Sanguem Taluka, South Goa.

The ministry of textiles, Federal government of India, has accepted placing up of Kunbi Handloom Crafts Village in South Goa. To be created at a value of ₹10 crore, the project is to be finished by March 2023. The money grant and other aid will be furnished by the Office of the Progress Commissioner (Handlooms), beneath the textiles ministry.

The challenge was accredited at a conference of the Challenge Acceptance and Checking Committee (PMAC) held under the chairmanship of secretary (Textiles) on December 31, 2021.

In addition to advertising handloom items, the undertaking aims at escalating money of the weavers though also serving as an extra attraction to holidaymakers.
