[ad_1]

The biggest characteristic of a wedding gown is how timeless the style is. Although, these celebrities are starting viral trends from their weddings.

Wedding dresses just like all fashion trends come and go, but something about them is a bit more timeless. There is never a bad time to wear a mermaid gown or even a ballgown. Although, celebrities do influence the most popular wedding gown styles as folks are searching social media for their own wedding planning inspo.

The Vera Clinic has kept a close eye on wedding dress trends, and after a  deep dive found the most popular wedding dress styles based on celebrity searches. Vera clinic found the most popular wedding dress to be Kate Middleton’s trumpet style dress, but many celebrities such as Ariana Grade’s slip dress or Sophie Turner’s Vegas jumpsuit are up there in popularity. Two additional styles that are trending but were not included in the Vera Clinic’s analysis include minimalist and non-traditional dresses.

Here are the top 10 celebrity wedding dress trends to look out for in 2022.

10 Slip

Ariana Grande’s slip wedding dress is following the very popular ’90s and Yk2 fashion trend, satin dresses. Her dress takes a unique and personal look at the satin slip dress trend, with the strapless cut, a slit, and a unique crowl back.

With the popularity of the satin trend in all wakes of fashion, be sure to see a shift from lace details in the wedding dress world in 2022.

9 Jumpsuit

Why not take a non-traditional stab at a wedding dress by switching things up for a wedding jumpsuit? Sophie Turner who married Joe J0nas first in an intimate and fun Vegas wedding, and then again at a more traditional big white wedding in France, wore a satin jumpsuit for the first of the two events.

The wide-leg with wrap cut top with an extra layer created an elegant yet playful look, making it the perfect combination of bridal and fun for a vegas wedding.

8 Tea-Length

Tea-length dresses cut just above the ankle, and celebrities such as Zoe Kravitz and Keira Knightly have rocked this look at their weddings. Kravitz’s gown specifically resembles that of a ballerina, giving her a sophisticated look that is classic and modern.

While the big skirt does pay homage to a big white dress, the length is easy to walk in and lets the shoes have their moment if you are more of a shoe girl.

7 Sheath

The sheath or sheer layers add a very elegant texture to a wedding dress, Priyanka Chopra’s gown got the most hits according to the Vera Clinic regarding the sheath trend.

Her dress has many sheer layers with lace intermixed and even an elegant button upfront. This look is timeless and sophisticated. Chopra did have two weddings, one traditional Indian wedding to honor her family and traditions, and another big white wedding with her husband Nick Jonas.

6 Trumpet

A trumpet gown is similar to a mermaid dress, but instead of hugging the body until the knees, it has an extra paneling in the back that makes the dress have a skirt instead of fitting tightly.

Kate Middleton’s dress is one of the most searched gowns on the internet for wedding inspo, with a reason as it is classic, true to her but also royal.

5 A-Line

Hailey Beiber’s wedding gown is very special because it was designed by the late Off White creative, Vigil Abloh. The A-line down features an off-the-shoulder cut and a gown that hugs her figure and has a long train. The lace layer creates a long sleeve effect and a beautiful train behind her.

The Beiber wedding took place in South Carolina and her modern yet classic gown was the perfect icing on the cake.

4 Ballgown

Chrissy Teigen wore a classic ballgown dress to her wedding to singer John Legend. The strapless gown features a bodice top with a princess skirt, that has many tulle layers. She topped off the look with a classic veil that trails behind her gown and updo.

Her gown almost resembles something that Marie Antionette would wear and very much sticks to tradition in terms of a big white wedding. Get your ballgown dress inspiration from Teigen.

3 Mermaid

Megan Markle wore a classic and simple long sleeve mermaid gown at her wedding to Prince Harry. This gown is quite minimalist and simple, and for that reason, it is elegant and timeless. She dressed it up with a sparkling tiara and bracelet adding a bit of bling to a classic look.

Mermaid gowns come in all forms, from strapless to tank top, or like Markles, long sleeve. Keep it simple, or find lace gown with embellishments.

2 Minimalist

Many modern brides like to keep things minimal and bride Chloe Esther Chevalier wanted to look back on her wedding pictures and see the timeless style. A minimal wedding gown can mean a lot of things from a simple white dress to tone down the details by going with a midi dress or less lace.

A minimalist look is a style that you can’t go wrong with because it will be eternally stylish and look great in pictures. Just because it is minimalist does not mean it sacrifices style.
