ITV’s This Morning host Phillip Schofield shares medical reason behind croaky voice

This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield has made fun of his own voice after revealing he has laryngitis.

The 59 year old, who was recently seen holding hands with his wife Stephanie during a night out with Boy George, appeared on the ITV programme on Monday 29 November alongside his co-host Holly Willoughby.

Blonde beauty Holly, 40, who looked gorgeous in a black turtleneck top with a silver sequinned skirt, started the show off as she said: “Hope you’re doing well this morning. Don’t panic, we haven’t changed his voice to protect his identity…”

She then turned to Phillip to question: “What’s going on with you?”

Looking sharp in a navy blue shirt with black trousers and matching shoes, he replied: “I have been fully tested, I feel amazingly good, but I have a touch of laryngitis.”

Laryngitis is the inflammation of the voice box, which is usually caused by an infection like a cold or the flu.

Symptoms include a croaky voice, difficulty speaking and a sore throat and it will typically get better on its own with rest.

He then put on a deep voice as he added: “I’m just going to sound a little croaky today. So I may do everything like this. Merry, merry Christmas.”

Holly, who recently looked stunning in a make up-free snap as she snuggled her pet dog Bailey, went on: “It sounds quite good, doesn’t it? It does mean you can’t sing,” to which Phillip joked: “Probably the best Christmas show in the world.”
