Nepal’s pashmina sector gets European Union boost

A new job funded by the European Union to improve Nepal’s route towards a lot more inclusive economic advancement and better integration into regional and world value chains was introduced just lately in Kathmandu. Geneva-dependent International Trade Centre (ITC) will put into practice the job focussed on Nepal’s pashmina good wool and speciality espresso sectors.

Nepal’s ministry of industry, commerce and supplies (MoICS) will companion with ITC in the job.

Important to achieving this will be to improve the capacities of the ministry and the Export Advertising Centre, enabling their team to much better formulate trade insurance policies, negotiate and put into practice trade agreements.

As part of this, a trade facilitation and export insurance policies toolbox will be designed. The job also emphasises on expanding the capacities during Nepal’s espresso and pashmina value chain, with a look at to link espresso smallholders and farmers to current market.
