Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas welcome baby via surrogate
Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas have surprised fans by announcing that they’ve welcomed their first child together.
The couple, who wed in December 2018, and are now the proud parents of a baby born via a surrogate.
Priyanka, 39, and Nick, 29, posted matching statements on Instagram simultaneously on Friday evening.
They read: “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate.
“We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much.”

Many of the couple’s famous friends, including Nick’s bandmate brothers, soon shared their congratulations underneath the posts.
Joe and Kevin Jonas left heart emojis under each picture, while music producer Ryan Tedder wrote “Omg HUGE CONGRAAAAAATS WOW WOW WOW” on Nick’s and “MAAASSSIVE MASSIVE CONGRAAAAATS!!!!!!” on Priyanka’s.

Nick and Priyanka’s whirlwind relationship began when they met at the 2017 Met Gala, after months of texting.
After their initial meeting, they denied being an item however just one month after the 2018 Met Gala, Priyanka introduced the pop star to her mum in India.
They then got engaged in July 2018 and married in the December, with an extravagant three-day ceremony in Jaipur, India.
On the first day of the extended ceremony, Priyanka was captured in stunning traditional Indian dress as she and Nick— who dressed traditionally in keeping with his partner’s culture also — were surrounded by closest family and friends.

The actress then wore a custom Ralph Lauren wedding gown, in a ceremony at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Bollywood-turned-Hollywood star Priyanka hinted weeks before the announcement that children were her and husband Nick’s “desire for the future”.
“[Children] a big part of our desire for the future. By God’s grace, when it happens, it happens,” Priyanka told Vanity Fair.
“My priority has always been the next job. I’m a very, very ambitious person. But I think the woman in me is craving balance.
‘”I’m craving my family life. I’m craving being able to do things for the soul that I didn’t do because I was just ‘blinders on’ and working.”
