Unlikely celeb friendships as Khloe Kardashian gushes over Holly Ramsay’s bikini snap

Celebrities have a reputation for making strange choices when it comes to fashion, interior design and in certain cases, friendships.

Every now and again famous faces align as unlikely buddies, leaving fans puzzled as to what exactly these celebrities in question have in common to lead them to develop such fond feelings for one another.

Case in point was made this week, when Khloe Kardashian left a comment on Holly Ramsay’s Instagram page after she posted a shot of herself posing in a bikini whilst enjoying a trip away in the Maldives over the New Year.

“Stunning,” the reality star wrote complimenting Holly – baffling followers in the comments who couldn’t believe the random exchange between the two stars.

How did Khloe become friends with the Strictly Come Dancing star? When did Holly meet the Kardashian sister and grow so close?

All questions fans pondered as the unexpected celebrity kinship set headlines buzzing, adding to a list of many other household names who have formed unlikely friendships over the years.

Here are a few of those odd pairings that have had people talking ever since their bizarre connections were revealed…

Harry Styles and Lizzo

On the occasions Harry Styles and US artist Lizzo have been seen together in public these past couple of years, the chemistry between the two artists is immediately clear.

Both were seen holding hands and throwing cheeky glances at each other during the 2020 Brit Awards and weeks before, Lizzo invited the Adore You singer to perform her hit song Juice with her during a show in Miami, Florida. She attended Harry’s concert tour in return last year and looked to be having the best time along with fans watching her pal do what he does best on stage.

Ed Sheeran and Courtney Cox

Friends star Courtney Cox opened up her home to Ed Sheeran back in 2013 early on in his singing career and provided a place for him to stay rent free, giving him time to focus on penning what would go on to become mega hit songs around the world.

Their friendship evolved as Ed introduced Courtney to her partner, Jonny McDaid. Most recently, the pals were seen dancing together in a video posted to Courtney’s Instagram, as well as singing with the rest of the actress’ family by a piano in her LA home where Ed often comes to visit.

Bradley Walsh and Stormzy

The Chase’s Bradley Walsh struck up an unlikely connection with UK rapper Stormzy when they both met each other at the 2017 Brit Awards and exchanged dialogue after Stormzy called the ITV host a “legend” on the red carpet.

Bradley went on to refer to the rapper as his “mate” and said that the pair actually hang out together – the comedian even impersonated Stormzy’s lyrical style in a clip posted to social media a year later as he begged to be featured on a track with the artist. While to date, this collaboration hasn’t happened yet, it might still be a possibility in the future!

David Schwimmer and David Walliams

As well as sharing the same first name, this pair possess similar comedic tendencies and so it’s no wonder they’ve gone on to become great buddies. Friends star David Schwimmer has hung out with Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams on many occasions after spending much of his time working over in London.

In November 2019, Schwimmer and Walliams were pictured bonding over a candlelit meal and were spotted that same year dancing to Stevie Wonder during his concert in Hyde Park, showing off what looks to be quite a fun friendship to be part of.

Eminem and Elton John

Eminem began what would turn out to be a two-decade long friendship with Sir Elton John after meeting in 2001 and performing at the Grammys together in a pairing that initially caused controversy after the rapper’s previous homophobic slurs in music.

The 49 year old has since apologised for his past lyrics and Elton John has continued to support Eminem, admitting to helping him out of his drug addiction years ago. The rapper has continued to show love for the singing legend also and even sent an X-rated diamond-encrusted wedding gift for him and his husband to enjoy in 2005.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Idris Elba

Prince Harry built up a solid friendship with actor and Prince’s Trust ambassador Idris Elba over the years after meeting through his father Prince Charles and when Meghan Markle joined the Royal family, she also grew close to the star.

The actor was even invited to the couple’s wedding in 2018 – not just as a guest though, but a DJ, a role Idris moonlights as successfully outside of acting. The 49 year old was in charge of spinning the tunes for Harry and Meghan to dance to along with their famous friends and family, leaving the multi-talented star feeling the “pressure” on the big night.

Emilia Clarke and Jason Momoa

Since working together on Game of Thrones, stars Emilia Clarke and Jason Momoa have maintained a close bond that has held up following the series itself ending in 2019.

While both actors have gone on to have outstanding careers outside of the hit HBO show, with Jason starring in 2018 film Aquaman and Emilia in the Star Wars universe, they have not let their success faze them and always manage to find time to catch up with other, posting photos of their reunions on social media whenever they do.
