Welcome to the Year of the Tiger

Satisfied Lunar New Year! The Year of the Tiger phone calls for a throwback to a custom made tiger ring I created years in the past for gorgeous client Christine.

I would appreciate to make a new tiger ring for the Tiger Yr — with some variations, of study course, so that Christine’s ring would continue being uniquely hers.

It would be gratifying to get some orange sapphires into this design and style. I was now pondering of blue sapphires for the eyes when magnificent Arlene chimed in on Fb to recommend that a star sapphire would be a worthy successor to the original’s black pearl. I concur! Also, I have never worked with a star sapphire.

This is a significant daring ring. I do not imagine I have any pictures of the concluded ring “in the wild” (in other words, on Christine’s hand), but you can get some plan of the dimensions from this photograph of me keeping the unique hand-carved wax model for the piece.
