Amy Hart shares update admitting she’s ‘upset but thankful’ after freezing eggs for fourth time

Amy Hart has updated fans on her egg freezing journey after she previously received disappointing news in her journey.

The former Love Island star, 29, has been open with fans about her egg freezing experience in the hopes of demystifying the process and had some better news to share this time with fans this time.

The star shared how she was “upset but thankful” after her egg freezing process was a success, even though it resulted in less frozen eggs than she’d hoped.

Posting three photos of herself – one of her before the procedure, one during and one after – Amy can be seen smiling as she told fans she now has 12 eggs “in the freezer”, after she previously went on a healthy eating and fitness regime to get her body in top shape for the collection.

Sharing the images, Amy wrote: “Before, during, after egg freezing attempt 4, actual Egg collection number 2, 9 collected and 7 of those good to freeze which means I’ve got 12 eggs in the freezer.

“Glad it’s all done and I can safely say that as much as I love that moment when the sedation hits (nothing quite like it) I am done with egg freezing. I know yesterday I said I’d be content with 5, happy with 7 and ecstatic with 10, but on reflection (and everyone else who had collections yesterday getting what felt like HUNDREDS, but was actually 17-22) I’m actually a bit upset.

“I tried to eat all the right things, haven’t had a drink (I’ve turned down FREE CHAMPAGNE people!!!), no fizzy, taken the tablets, paid extra for extra meds, been a proper crazy lady for 3 weeks (shout out to @samuelrason for not blocking and deleting me) to get an extra two eggs.

“I have to make peace with it though and accept that if that’s what my body produces, that’s what I have to be grateful for. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support you’ve all given me over the last month or so.”

After thanking fans for their support, Amy finished her message by stressing the importance of checking in with any friends who might be going through something similar.

The star continued: “As I always say, if you’ve got a friend doing egg freezing or fertility treatment, TALK TO THEM. Not everyone has you guys to dm. Just a little text asking them how it’s going can mean the world. It can be a very lonely experience.

“Although my journey is paused, I’m gonna do a Q&A with my fertility professor and will do some more question boxes etc, I’m still your local friendly egg freezer helper. Now where is the wine”.

Fans congratulated Amy and praised her for sharing her experience.

One fan wrote: “You are both brave and amazing to share this”.

Another added: “I wish you all the love and luck on your journey, it can be a very lonely, scary place which needs to be talked about more openly xxx”

A third added: “I know it’s hard, but try to remember that everyone’s in a different position! Some of those people will have been donors who are at peak fertility. You’ve done amazingly, be proud of what your body has achieved!!

It comes after the beauty revealed she was planning to get her body in “tip top condition” with a 12-week healthy-eating and fitness plan to freeze her eggs back in October.

Initially, the star had received some criticism from her followers over the gruelling plan, so she cleared things up on her Instagram.

Explaining she was unhappy about the “habits” she’d gotten into and was determined to simply live a healthier lifestyle, Amy added: “I’m thinking about freezing my eggs again next year, like at the beginning of next year, so I need to be in you know a good place with my eating.

“Cutting down on my drinking [and] making sure I’m sleeping so my body is in tip top condition.”
