Govt changes status of textile research associations

In consonance with the Federal government of India’s eyesight of “Minimum Federal government and Optimum Governance”, a leaner govt equipment and the have to have for systematic rationalisation of govt bodies, the Federal government of India has adjusted the standing of eight current textiles investigation associations (TRAs) from ‘affiliated bodies’ to ‘approved bodies’.

“All TRAs do hereby stop to be ‘affiliated bodies’ of the ministry of textiles. The eight (8) TRAs shall hereafter be ‘approved bodies’ for conducting tests, investigation and developmental pursuits similar to the textiles sector,” a ministry of textiles resolution dated August 6, 2020 reported.

From now on, any disposal/sale/transfer of belongings developed out of Central Federal government grant shall require prior certain approval of the ministry of textiles.

“In addition, officers of the ministry of textiles, Federal government of India, representing in the Governing Bodies of these TRAs are hereby withdrawn,” the resolution added.

It suggests that the modifications could be incorporated in the related bye-rules of the respective TRAs, beneath intimation to the ministry of textiles.

The eight current TRAs are Ahmedabad Textile Industry’s Analysis Affiliation (ATIRA), Ahmedabad The Bombay Textile Analysis Affiliation (BTRA), Mumbai Northern India Textile Analysis Affiliation (NITRA), Ghaziabad The South India Textile Analysis Affiliation (SITRA), Coimbatore The Synthetic & Art Silk Mills’ Analysis Affiliation (SASMIRA), Mumbai Guy-Designed Textile Analysis Affiliation (MANTRA), Surat Wool Analysis Affiliation (WRA), Thane and Indian Jute Industries’ Analysis Affiliation (IJIRA), Kolkata.
