Married at First Sight’s Franky Spencer slams producers for editing ‘real him’ out of show

Married at First Sight contestant Franky Spencer has slammed producers for not showing “the real me”.

After clashing with the experts on the show including psychiatrist Mel Schilling and wife Marilyse, 35, on the show, Franky took to his Instagram to address concerns surrounding his behaviour on the show.

He said: “I’m inundated with messages, WhatsApps, Insta DMs and Facebook DMs. Everyone’s saying ‘what the hell’s going on? What the hell’s going on?’

“I am not the guy who edits all the footage. I just don’t know what’s going on. It is what it is, you know. I’m thick-skinned.”

Previously, the husband and wife argued during a ‘Yes Week’ challenge after the 47-year-old fitness coach ignored Marilyse’s pleas for him to wear an apron while cooking, leading him to tell her to “f*** off”.

And in a more recent episode, things got even more heated after Marilyse revealed that she had chosen to sleep in a different room to Franky following a disagreement. This lead viewers to encourage Marilyse to dump Franky, who just accidentally confessed his love for his wife.

“Franky is red flags red flags red flags!!!”

Explaining her decision to remove herself from the situation, Marilyse said: “He got a bit upset, and he didn’t drop it. And before it got any more heated, I removed myself and went and stayed in a different room.”

But Franky has insisted that viewers aren’t witnessing a true reflection of their relationship and that the upsides of their experience hasn’t yet been aired on the programme.

He added: “During the experiment, there were a lot of amazing positives that went on between Marilyse and I.”

Though the contestants are required to keep the status of their relationship a secret despite filming for the experiment having finished, Franky is adamant that there is another side to him that producers aren’t showing.

“I’m not allowed to tell you where we’re at right now, and if we got through the experiment, but fun time Franky is obviously not being shown,” he said.

With Married at First Sight due to end in October, Franky admitted that he hopes that viewers will eventually see him in a more positive light and encouraged them to stick with the show to see where his journey with Marilyse will go.

He said: “So, bear with it. Maybe we get to see a Franky where he’s not goofy and negative and see the real me, I just don’t know.”
