New gym ready to muscle in on Bishop’s Stortford fitness market by opening its sixth branch

A gymnasium chain wants to open up a department in Bishop’s Stortford – its sixth in all and its to start with outside the house Essex – by changing an industrial warehouse.

Ab Salute Health club opened its to start with outlet in Romford in 2010 and now operates in Brentwood, Thurrock, Chelmsford and Braintree too.

The business has requested planning authority East Herts Council for permission to change the use of 15-16 Raynham Highway on the industrial estate.

In a submission to the council supporting the bid, Ab Salute explained: “Membership is for all age groups, beginners or innovative, whilst it is largely aimed in the direction of adult men and females in the mid-teens to 30s age team.”

The floor ground would be applied for energy/bodyweight training with a cardiovascular work out area on the 1st flooring along with sunbeds and an business office. There would also be a reception place, storage place, and changing and shower rooms.
