Sainsbury’s hires former John Lewis MD Nickolds as clothing boss, Retail News, ET Retail

Sainsbury’s stated on Thursday that Nickolds would join as common products and garments commercial director next month, succeeding Mike Luck, who is leaving the team.
Nickolds, who will be responsible for common products in Sainsbury’s suppliers as well as the Argos, Habitat and Tu garments enterprises, will also get a seat on Sainsbury’s working board, reporting to CEO Simon Roberts.
She labored for John Lewis for 25 years, the latter three as controlling director. She left in January previous calendar year after the office store chain endured a bad Christmas.
Last week Sainsbury’s forecast a large rebound in underlying profit this calendar year after a 39% tumble in 2020-21 as strong foods gross sales in the course of the pandemic were outweighed by more expenditures and a conclusion to forgo business rates relief.
